1. About these Terms
These Terms govern MyHood’s website and mobile apps, operated by TryMyHood, based in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Contact support@trymyhood.com. The Privacy Policy separately explains information handling; these Terms are not blanket privacy consent.
2. Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 13 years old. We do not offer accounts to children under 13, even with parental permission. Higher local age restrictions or parental authorization requirements may apply. Where you cannot legally enter this agreement, an authorized parent must accept on your behalf as permitted by law. Parental permission cannot override a legal account prohibition.
Provide accurate account and age information, protect sign-in codes and credentials, and report suspected unauthorized access. Do not impersonate someone or bypass age, privacy, security or service-area restrictions. Availability varies by region and feature. Venue and event age limits remain separate.
3. Discovery and community conduct
Check current hours, prices, availability, accessibility, age limits and other important details with the venue or organizer before travelling or booking. Unless expressly stated otherwise, MyHood is not the organizer, seller or booking agent for external events or transactions. We remain responsible for our own representations and obligations.
A heart saves an item. Ratings, visits and attendance are separate. Going is a plan, not a ticket, reservation or confirmation that you attended.
Do not use MyHood for unlawful activity, harassment, threats, exploitation, privacy or IP infringement, deceptive content, spam, fabricated activity or referrals, malicious software, unauthorized access, or interference with the service. Do not extract restricted information or commercially copy protected material without authority. Mandatory legal rights remain unaffected.
Use available reporting and blocking tools or contact support@trymyhood.com for safety, content or IP concerns. MyHood is not an emergency service. Exercise reasonable care when visiting places or meeting people.
4. Content and intellectual property
You retain ownership of content you own and must have the rights needed to submit it. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, technically adapt, display and transmit it only to operate, deliver, maintain and protect MyHood, consistent with your sharing choices and the Privacy Policy. Providers may perform those functions under appropriate restrictions. The licence does not transfer ownership or authorize unrelated exploitation.
The licence ends when content is deleted, except for restricted copies needed for backup expiry as described in the Privacy Policy, a specific lawful obligation or an outstanding legal claim. Copies independently retained by recipients may remain outside our control; this does not excuse removal of information we control.
MyHood and its licensors retain rights in the software, design, brands and protected materials. You receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the service under these Terms. Do not defeat access controls or reverse engineer restricted technology except where law expressly permits it.
5. Moderation, rewards and changes
We may investigate reports and restrict content or accounts to address violations, unlawful conduct or material safety and security risks. We provide explanations and opportunities to contest decisions where legally required or reasonably practicable. Immediate action may be necessary where notice would create a risk or is prohibited. Contact support@trymyhood.com to request review. Privacy and mandatory appeal rights remain available.
Points, streaks, milestones and freeze credits follow the rules disclosed for the feature. They are not money or transferable property unless an offer expressly states otherwise. Do not falsify qualification. We may correct errors or withhold unearned rewards after reasonable review; changes cannot unlawfully remove earned rights.
We may maintain, change or discontinue features for legitimate business, safety or legal reasons, with required notice, consent and remedies. External services have their own terms; we remain responsible for our own obligations.
6. Ending use
You can stop using MyHood at any time. Request account deletion as described in the Privacy Policy. Signing out or uninstalling does not delete an account. Necessary IP protection and outstanding lawful claims survive termination only as permitted by law.
7. Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by law, MyHood is provided “as is” and “as available”, without additional implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, current third-party listings or that an event will occur.
To the extent permitted by law, we exclude indirect, incidental, special, consequential losses and all direct or aggregate monetary liability arising from your use of the services.
These restrictions do not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be limited, mandatory privacy or consumer remedies, fraud or wilful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence where exclusion is unlawful. No clause removes mandatory warranties, compensation, refunds or other statutory rights, or excuses a legal security duty.
8. Disputes and updates
Subject to mandatory local protections, British Columbia law and applicable federal Canadian law govern these Terms. This choice does not deprive consumers of protections that cannot be excluded under applicable law. Courts in British Columbia have non-exclusive jurisdiction, without limiting access to courts available under mandatory local law. We do not impose mandatory arbitration, an exclusive foreign forum or a class-action waiver.
You may contact support@trymyhood.com to resolve a concern, but need not do so before contacting a regulator or using a legally available remedy.
We provide prominent notice of material changes and obtain new acceptance where required before applying them. Changes do not retroactively remove accrued rights. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining Terms apply to the extent they can operate lawfully.
